A very fine First British Edition copy of A Little Princess, by Frances Hodgson Burnett, from 1905.

Frances Hodgson Burnett’s timeless classic tells the story of Sara Crewe, a young girl who is sent to a boarding school in London while her father, Captain Crewe, embarks on a dangerous expedition in India. Sara's life takes a dramatic turn when she receives news that her father has died and left her penniless. Once treated like royalty due to her wealth, Sara is now forced to become a servant at the school, facing cruelty and hardship. Despite her circumstances, Sara's unbreakable spirit, imagination, and kindness transform her world and those around her, proving that anyone can be a princess at heart, regardless of their social standing.

A bright, firm copy, Gilt to spin and cover remains clear. Some rubbing to extremities of the spine, and a little knocking to corners, but overall the books has aged exceptionally well. Internally, a previous owner has leaf a neat dedication on the front endpaper, but the book is otherwise very clean.

Published by F. Warne & Co., 1905.
